Results for 2003 – 2004
Columbus Public Schools
Columbus Public Schools received these results while using Destination Math:
- The 20 participating schools using our solution showed a statistically significantly higher average score on the Target Teach math assessments than 20 control schools.
- Caucasian students’ average scores increased 9.5 points from the pretest to posttest, while Black/African American students’ scores increased 16.2 points, and Hispanic/Latino scores increased 17.3 points. This suggests that the technology project may help in closing the digital divide among different ethnicities.
- Teachers’ technology surveys showed that the importance of instructional software grew from 52.1% in the fall to 80.9% in the spring
- Participating schools showed statistically significant gains in their students’ computer use across all categories.
- Reeb Elementary came out of Academic Emergency.

- Columbus Public EETT schools with high teacher buy-in and strong building leadership, out performed or met all other Columbus Public Schools performance on Ohio 4th grade math proficiency tests.
